From June 22-26, 2018, city officials from across the state of Georgia will gather to examine the character of cities at the 85th Annual Convention of the Georgia Municipal Association
. City officials will engage in a variety of meaningful and thought provoking training classes ranging in topics from developing entrepreneur friendly cities to planning and zoning. Mobile workshops visiting the Port of Savannah, the nation’s fourth busiest port, and Savannah's Ellis Square are available for convention attendees.
An Exhibit Hall with vendors from over 150 companies will open on Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday afternoon at the business meeting, voting delegates will vote on GMA’s 2019 Legislative Policies and elect 2018-2019 officers and the board of directors. An awards and installation luncheon will be held on Monday, during which the board and district officers will be installed.
GMA will continue its green meeting initiatives by providing recycle bins for attendees throughout the Trade Center and posting handouts and session notes on the GMA website. Though bottled water will not be provided by GMA, water dispensers are available throughout the building. GMA encourages attendees to bring their own reusable water bottle.
