GovDeals Online Surplus Auctions

At-a-Glance

Government agencies across the country are adopting online resources to provide transparency and control over their surplus auctions.  In Georgia more than 500 agencies, including 174 cities and 286 city agencies chose GovDeals to sell their surplus equipment to a qualified global audience of buyers.  Contact us to see how we can help you gain control over your process and provide the transparent and lucrative process that your citizens deserve.

GovDeals Online Surplus Auctions

When selling surplus vehicles, computers, office furniture, real estate, seized assets and other assets, traditional methods do not provide the transparency or control that your and your citizens deserve.  For example, as soon as an assets leave your yard for an offsite auction you have no control and you won’t know what happened until the auction is completed.  Or, if you are hosting a sealed bid auction you can not know the bid price until the envelopes are opened and the it is too late to change.

That’s where GovDeals is different. GovDeals—which gives you complete control and complete transparency—partners with GMA to provide you a transparent online auction system that you control from start to finish.

Benefits

  • A transparent process.  You, your staff and your citizens will all be able to see exactly what is happening in each individual auction, including…
    • The starting bid
    • The current bid price
    • The number of unique visitors to the auction page
    • The number of bids on the item
    • The time remaining at auction
    • Any associated fees or bidder premiums
    • Taxes to be paid
    • The previous 365 days auction results.
  • A process you control.  Using the information available from our transparent process you will be able to make the choices that directly effect your bottom line, before and during the auction.
  • A large audience of focused, qualified buyers. These are experienced buyers looking for specific items. You won’t see aimless general buyers dominating the bidding. That means more competition for your items, more intent to buy, and more money for you.
  • An online, automated system. GovDeals is an online automated bidding system accessed through the Internet. No servers to host, and no expensive software licenses. After signing up for GovDeals, you can immediately start posting items for bid and easily manage your items from your computer. The GovDeals automated bidding mechanism notes bids in real time and ends the auction at a specific time, without any human interaction or need to manually manage the auction process.
  • Training and assistance. We train your staff on how the GovDeals process works, including how to post items for bid. As soon as you sign up, GMA arranges training for you as soon as possible. Training is available in person, over the phone, or online—whatever best meets your needs.
  • Fair market value research. We help make sure you’re not underpricing or overpricing your items. The GovDeals team performs research on your items to double check that you are bidding them at the right price.
  • Free marketing. GovDeals markets and advertises its auctions throughout the United States and around the world through a variety of online and print media. That means they’re constantly bringing a world audience to your auctioned items without you having to spend a dime on advertising and promotion.

Costs

There is no cost to get started. GovDeals’s fees are deducted either from the money you collect, or by adding a “buyer’s premium” to items you sell. Without any upfront costs or annual fees, you can start using GovDeals today.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS ARE SAYING
"GovDeals has proven to be a great way to auction off surplus equipment for the City of Moultrie.  From push mowers to dump trucks, it has brought in over $230,000 for the city in 2017.  No longer do we have surplus equipment sitting around losing further value, but we instead have a quick turn-around so that the equipment finds a new home.  GovDeals ensures that our equipment has a large bidding audience, and GovDeals' helpful staff answers any questions we might have and helps us set up our auctions in the way that is most suitable for us."

- Daniel Ward, Moultrie
