GMA Named a Top Workplace

March 28, 2016

GMA has been named one of the Top Workplaces for 2016 in Atlanta by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC). GMA was ranked 46 among 75 small workplaces in Atlanta, and was included in the newspaper’s March 27 coverage of top workplaces. This is the second year in a row GMA has been recognized as a Top Workplace by the AJC.
The Top Workplaces are determined based solely on employee feedback. The employee survey is conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. More than 75 percent of GMA’s 80 employees participated in the survey. Of the 1,400 nominated companies, the AJC selected the top 150 for inclusion.
“It really is an honor to be selected because it’s based upon what employees say,” said GMA Executive Director Lamar Norton. “GMA really is a family and that shows in the survey results. When you love what you do, it shows. And GMA staff love working for the membership, which is illustrated in their day-to-day commitment to our membership and the survey comments that showed GMA staff really feel their work serves the purpose of assisting city officials carry out their duties.”
Some of the comments by GMA staff:
I love GMA and our members, which is why we strive to do all we can to support them!  Teamwork is also encouraged and greatly supported here.
I have a great sense of pride as a part of the GMA family. It’s fulfilling to know that we are truly making a difference across Georgia, while being appreciated by leadership.
GMA is going in the right direction with the betterment of our membership and cities as our main priority. This is made clear by all of the positive feedback I get from elected officials when I travel to my district, convention and everyday interactions.
GMA has been serving cities for more than 80 years, advocating on their behalf at the state Capitol, in Washington, D.C., and providing services and training to equip city officials with the tools they need to serve their cities.
