GMA has launched an e-procurement program with the Home Depot Pro-Xtra to help cities save money and time when purchasing goods and services. The e-procurement program provides cities with a dedicated team at Home Depot for all purchases. Purchases can be made on-line and picked up at local stores, or be delivered to the city.
Because this program is part of U.S. Communities Aggregated Purchasing, cities may purchase directly and immediately from Home Depot without worrying about RFPs, competitive requirements or other procurement hurdles. GMA gives cities access to a customer-friendly website that’s different from HomeDepot.com and specifically designed for government eProcurement. Plus, managers can see the history of the city’s purchases and export data to accounting software for better tracking of purchases.
Other features of the program include:
- Special Discounts: Home Depot offers special discounts when items are bought through GMA (such as 20 percent off paints, stains and primers)
- Volume Pricing: For orders over $1,000, cities receive special volume pricing that helps reduce costs on major purchases.
- Annual Rebate: Cities receive an annual rebate of 3 percent—with no minimum spending threshold.
Cities can also contact the Home Depot team to get quotes on items they don’t see on-line or in stores. The Home Depot team will do a “quote to cart” where the quote is entered into the on-line cart of the city. The city can then simply click to purchase the items. In addition, Home Depot’s design services team can help cities with projects big and small, from entire design to hiring local contractors for a painting project. The design services contractors are carefully vetted and can help fill in where cities need extra help on projects.
One of the main features of the program is the Home Depot team specifically dedicated to helping cities. The team can be reached at email@example.com
