Land & Water Conservation Fund Grants
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is pleased to announce the 2017-2018 Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant cycle. The federal LWCF grant program helps state and local governments acquire recreation lands, and develop and rehabilitate outdoor recreation facilities. It is anticipated that $4.3 million will be available for disbursement to local governments during this funding cycle.
Grant funds are disbursed based on scores received using criteria questions. These questions were developed to address the priorities within the state’s current Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP).
LWCF requires grant recipients to provide at least 50 percent in matching funds for each selected project. A $25,000 grant minimum (total project cost of $50,000) and a $100,000 grant maximum (total project cost of $200,000) will apply again this year. Local governments should not submit more than one (1) pre-application.
