This legislation would create a Local Law Enforcement Officer Compensation Commission which would be composed of nine members and be required to meet at least semiannually. The Commission would be required to provide an ongoing review of the salaries and benefits of local law enforcement officers in the state and file an annual report concerning its findings with the General Assembly. Local law enforcement agencies would be required to provide compensation data to the commission.
