Last Updated: 3/30/2018
Subject Area: Public Safety |
Resources: bill text
This bill would provide local governing authorities the ability to regulate the use or ignition of consumer fireworks based on local noise ordinances. Local governements would have to re-enact noise ordinace to include fireworks. Though this bill allows for local control on most days, there are five day of the year in which the usage of fireworks cannot be regulated.
  • New Year's Eve
  • The last Friday and Saturday of May to observe Memorial Day
  • Independance Day
  • Labor Day
The bill also gives the Governor the authority to suspend the usage of fireworks in times of a drought.
