This legislation would allow public safety officials to use forms promulgated by various state agencies to request redaction of names, home addresses, and telephone numbers of such public safety official. The application for such redaction would have to be presented to the applicant's department head for approval. If a department head files an application they would be able to approve it him or herself. The Certificate of Redaction would be valid for ten years. The legislation would require cities to remove any such information from view on its website within 72 hours of receiving a written request for redaction with a certificate.
