Financial Policies

Many cities have some financial policies even though the elected officials have not formally adopted them. Often these policies result from precedent, and they become standing practices within a city. This chapter will guide elected officials through the formal adoption process of these policies. To conclude, sample policies are given and suggested guidelines for policy formulation are discussed.
