To assist cities in making good employment decisions and to assist with credit verification for utility purposes, GMA offers a service to assist cities with screening of potential and current employees as well as utility customers.

 

Through a contractual agreement with Laborchex, cities have access to an automated web based system to perform various types of background checks, such as criminal records, motor vehicle records, educational credentials, professional licenses, POST certifications, personal and professional references, employment verification, social security number verifications and credit histories. For cities that do not wish to access the service via the Internet, screenings can be ordered via fax or by phone.

 

To begin ordering screening information, the city completes an agreement with Laborchex. If several people at the city will be utilizing the service, individual passwords will be assigned.

 

Due to the preferred pricing and other information established by GMA for its members, a password and username is required to view the information.
