The Buckhead City Council voted to accept Gary Timberlake’s bid to install safety playground zones in Buckhead’s city park in order to comply with the federal park standards of the American Disabilities Act (ADA).

Buckhead council to consider renovation of city playground
The Town of Buckhead’s government is working to get the public playground up to safety standards. At Monday’s meeting, the council discussed buying certain parts wholesale and agreed to look further into the costs of renovating the playground.

City, county come to terms to file LOST certificate
With only a few minutes remaining before the 4:30 p.m. deadline last Thursday, Oct. 17, Morgan County filed a renewed certificate of distribution for Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) funds with the Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR), keeping the current allocation of LOST funds static.

LOST negotiations now lost? Court ruling hurries a LOST decision; county offers keeping current allocations
Following Tuesday’s executive session, the county suggested keeping former LOST rates through Dec. 2014. That means Madison gets 22 percent; Rutledge, 4 percent; Bostwick, 0.6 percent; Buckhead, 0.4 percent; and Morgan, 73 percent.
