Facade grant aids upgrades

Beginning in March of this year, the city began the application process to provide downtown businesses with refunded money to improve and restore the historical integrity of business facades in the area. According to Tallapoosa City Planning Coordinator Patrick Clarey, the restoration is an effort to get the buildings on the National Register of Historic Places and has two major steps.
